The Country Club of Waterbury

Local Rules Dress Code:
(Golf Course) No cut off shorts, no denim jeans.  Bermuda length shorts and other proper golf attire is permitted.  The Country Club of Waterbury is a soft spike golf course.
(Club House) No denim jeans, cut off shorts or tee shirts.  For dinner, jackets are always acceptable for men.

Cell Phones: As a courtesy to our members and their guests, we ask that you do not use cell phones on the course or in the dining areas.

Caddies: Caddies/Forecaddies are available in season, please call ahead for arrangements.

Etiquette & Additional Notes: Rake your bunkers, refill your divots and pick up your trash. All measurements are to the center of the green.  All unmentioned hazards and boundaries are as marked on the course.

12th Hole: In the event a player's ball is in the lateral water hazard behind the green, the player may use the forward men's tee on the 13th hole as a drop area.
(See rule 26 for other options).

13th Hole: The hazard on the 13th hole is defined as a water hazard if the ball was played from the tee side of the pond, and as a lateral water hazard if the ball was played from the green side of the pond.  In order to speed play, if a tee shot is suspected of being in the hazard, the player may play a provisional ball.  In such case, the player may play the original ball as it lies or continue play of the provisional ball, but he may not proceed under rule 26.

Embedded Ball: USGA Local Embedded Ball Rule (Appendix I, Section 7) is in effect at all times.

Pace of Play: An undelayed round is an important tradition of this Club.  Whenever a match shall for any reason fall more than one clear hole behind the players ahead, it is expected to invite the following match through.  In the absence of such invitation, the following match may go through upon request.  4 hours is sufficient time for a 4-ball match to finish 18 holes.

Rules of Golf: If you require additional information about the rules of golf, please visit the
USGA Rules & Decisions section of their website or consult your local club professional.
